Meet the Dent Whisperers: The Story Behind I-DENTity PDR

4 min read

You did everything right. You parked at the far end of the lot, away from the crowd. And then you came back and saw it: a brand-new dent in the door, catching the light at exactly the wrong angle. No note. No apology. Just a dent.

If you love your car, you know that sinking feeling. It's a small mark, but once you've seen it, you can't un-see it. And the questions start right away: How much is this going to cost? How long will I be without my car? Will it ever really look the same again?

We know that feeling well. Making it disappear is exactly why I-DENTity PDR exists.

Our Story: Meet Boris and Ran

Hi! We're Boris and Ran, the two people behind I-DENTity PDR. We're car people first: the kind who notice a clean body line from across a parking lot and can't walk past a well-kept car without taking a second look.

Boris: where it all started

I-DENTity began with Boris. In 2019, he travelled to the United States to train in Paintless Dent Repair at the Ding King Training Institute. He spent his days at the bench, learning to read a panel under the light and move metal with nothing but patience and the right tools. He came home with a certificate, a set of skills and a clear idea: bring this craft to drivers across the Greater Toronto Area.

Ran: joining the craft

In 2024, Ran joined Boris to learn PDR hands-on and to take the lead on marketing and SEO. Ran brings the same obsessive eye for detail to the bench, and he's the reason it's now so easy to find us online and request an estimate in a few clicks.

Why we treat PDR as an art form

From the outside, Paintless Dent Repair can look almost like magic. In reality, it's a craft. Using specialized tools, we work from behind the panel, applying slow, precise pressure to gently massage the metal back to its original shape. Under special lighting, we read the reflections on the surface and make small, careful adjustments until the panel is smooth again.

It takes patience, steady hands and a trained eye. For us, a repair isn't finished when the dent is "mostly gone." It's finished when we can't find it, and neither can you.

The vision behind I-DENTity

We built I-DENTity PDR on a simple belief: fixing a dent shouldn't mean repainting your car or giving it up for days. That means true craftsmanship, done in our own shop with the right lighting and tools, and a simple process from your first click to a dent-free panel. Your car's identity (its factory finish, its value, its story) deserves to be protected.

We were honoured to be recognized as a 2024 Business of the Year. Still, the review that means the most to us is the moment a customer runs their hand over the panel and can't tell where the dent used to be.

The PDR Advantage: Why It's the Smarter Fix for Everyday Dents

Door dings, parking lot bumps, shopping cart hits, minor creases: these are the everyday dents that PDR was made for. As long as the paint isn't cracked or chipped, there's a very good chance we can make the damage disappear without a drop of paint. Here's what that looks like on a real job:

Before and after: a creased front fender on a white Audi, restored with PDR. No filler, no repaint, original factory finish.

Your original factory paint stays untouched

Your car's factory paint is applied and cured in a controlled environment that's hard to replicate. Traditional repairs often involve sanding, filler and repainting, which can lead to slight colour mismatches over time. With PDR, there's no sanding, no filler and no new paint. The original finish stays exactly as it left the factory.

Your car keeps its resale value

Original paint is one of the things buyers and appraisers look for. Repainted panels can show up during an inspection and raise questions about a car's history. By keeping your factory finish intact, PDR helps protect what your car is worth when it's time to sell or trade it in.

Less time without your car

A traditional body shop repair usually means leaving your car for days while panels are filled, painted and left to cure. PDR skips all of that, so it's a much faster process, and many everyday dents can be fixed in a single visit to our shop. With no paint or filler involved, PDR is also often the more cost-effective option.

Honest note: PDR isn't the right fix for every dent. If the paint is damaged or the metal is stretched too far, we'll tell you straight, before any work begins.

How It Works: From Estimate to Dent-Free

We designed the whole experience to be as smooth as the panels we repair. Here's what it looks like:

Step 1: Request your estimate

Visit our homepage and tell us a little about your vehicle and the damage. No phone tag, no guesswork.

Step 2: We get back to you

We'll review your request, send you an estimate and find an appointment time that works for you.

Step 3: Bring your car to our shop

Drop by our shop at your appointment time. Our workspace is set up for PDR, with professional lighting and the full set of tools, so we can read every panel clearly and do the job right.

Step 4: Fall in love with your car again

When we're done, we'll walk you through the result. The dent is gone, your factory paint is untouched, and you're back on the road.

  • No paint or filler. Your original finish stays original.

  • No long body shop waits. Many everyday dents are fixed in one visit.

  • A dedicated PDR shop. The right lighting and tools for a precise result.

Ready to Make That Dent Disappear?

That dent doesn't have to be the first thing you notice every time you walk up to your car. Head over to our homepage and request your estimate. We'll take it from there.

We can't wait to meet you (and your car).
